Well the first thing Dell will do is try and replace parts but if you get a replacement system.
The general consensus seems to be the replacement has to be 'as good or better' than what you have. If they can't match a specific thing they will usually try and 'upgrade' a few other parts.
Almost always the replacement will be refurbished. Good place to look is the dell outlet and see if there is a system similar to your own and that is probably what you would get.
Depending on the tech agent you get they may or may not give you the specs, once they did with me and once they did not they just sent a system.
On refunds they should refund the complete costs, tax, shipping etc.
