Your card is not among the x120e whitelist:

Lenovo Support - System service parts - ThinkPad X100e, X120e

Sorry, should make the title more clear: request to remove whitelist from the bios.

P.S. the 6250 uses the same drivers as 6200

I little late for this, but I used an Intel 5100 (mini pci) in my x100e and it worked just fine.(Doesn't mean it will work in x120e.)

For what it's worth...I bought an intel 5100, and it didn't work..until I installed a modded BIOS. It was on slickdeals that I saw how to do it...if you want I can link you to the post.

However, I'm kinda thinking I might just upgrade to the Intel 6300. Apparently there are 3 antenna that can be used in the x120e.

Nope, it was verified not to be among the supported cards in the X120e: for some reason or another, Lenovo removed the Intel WiFi 5100 from the whitelist in the X120e BIOS.

There's already a bios with the whitelist check removed, if you google for "slickdeals x120e bios" (not sure if I can give a direct link to the post or not here...)

Is it sorta do-it-yourself? I'm interested, for now there is a solution for current bios (1.08)

Remove whitelist check / add ID's to break hardware restrictions mod requests.

sry, if the link to other forum is not permitted...

the guy i bought my 6200 has x100e listed as supported. But as it turned out it does not works in x120e. The seller went an extra mile and sent me a replacement card. As you can guess neither of them worked without the bios patch. He also offered a refund. So as a token of appreciation for his kindness and for any of you willing to upgrade Im placing a link Intel Advanced-N 6200 MiNi Card For Lenovo 60Y3230 | eBay

I'm leaving it up to admins to kill the link

can anyone say if 6300 has any real advantage over 6200 and is worth the extra cash?
